Admission Requirements for the Master Degree

Documents required

A personal questionnaire, a school-leaving certificate with the list of the subjects and marks, a medical certificate, stating the absence of the contra-indication against studying in Russia, an AIDS test certificate, 12 colour photos (3x4 cm), a medical insurance policy and a letter of guarantee (or a ticket) for covering the travelling expenses to Russia and back to the home country.

Additional Information

Period of teaching and quantity of foreign students in the institute

Starting from 1954 VGIK has prepared 1700 foreign specialists for 98 foreign countries.

Accommodation

Two dormitories (Student Hostel) has all facilities for living, including system of protection. The cost per month: 66$US for one bed in a two-bed room, 132 $US / 180 $US for a single room (small/big).

Sport, rest and medical insurance

Sport halls, rendered Swimming pools, medical nurse to render first assistance at the Institute, services in Policlinics, medical insurance to be paid by student.

Additional information

VGIK is the first filmschool in the world. Training is performed by outstanding masters of Drama, Cinema and TV with using the methods, based on great traditions of Russian drama and cinema. While studying, students have a possibility to co-operate with students of other professions. Practically VGIK is training a film crew. VGIK has a professional Film Studio with 4 big pavilions and with all necessary facilities for shooting.
